Within the downtown Ludington region, several murals grace the façades of local area businesses, telling stories of the area’s rich history. We always get ice cream and enjoy the atmosphere. Due to the pandemic, House of Flavors has not had dine-in service for over a year. They’ve been doing take-out and delivery during this time, and haven’t been able to offer their free scoop of ice cream with every meal ordered in the restaurant. Ludington is home to many galleries featuring the talents of local artists including photographers, painters, potters, jewelers, crafters, and more. They are the largest producer of ice cream in Michigan. While we do produce a lot of ice cream, this is only a part of why we do what we do.

In 1935 the business had become known as Miller's Dairy and started expanding the operation. By the 1940s they processed milk, buttermilk, cottage cheese, and ice cream. In the late 1940s a businessman with a decade of dairy experience moved to Ludington from a city 60 miles south to become a partner of the existing business.

Purchase some produce fresh from local farms, or pick up some baked goods, jewelry, or handmade craft items. Final Friday Experiences (formerly Friday Night Live) take place the last Friday of each month from May-September. Food vendors, music, kid’s games, and entertainment make this event very popular with visitors and residents alike.

I had the turkey sandwich, which was pulled turkey, not processed. It was like leftovers the day after Thanksgiving. One thing to note, though, is that they charge you an extra 3.2 % to use your credit card. Look for opportunities to enjoy the journey and have a little fun along the way. We take what we do very seriously, but not ourselves.
