Unveiling Selena Xin Jin's Dark Fairy Tale: The Lady of the House of Love A Visionary Cinematic Masterpiece

Others brought us our food and drinks and they were very nice as well....great place. Love this place great Chinese food and Sushi. Food is always great and the service is always great.

We’re Crazy About Ramen

This used to be the best place in town. Good food but one staff member was very rude. I always get my chicken grilled when I go there. The last time I was there this young kid told me no I can't get grilled chicken because they were to busy.... I told him I always get it and that didn't make sense because it they are to busy. He had to make a remark out loud that orders are taking long time because someone grilled chicken.

Also, it received recognition at IndieX Film Fest for “Best Costume Design” and an “Honorable Mention” for the adapted screenplay. Customer Ratings and Reviews

One of the BEST dining experiences I’ve ever had. Not just at a Chinese/Japanese restaurant, but in general. We ordered the dumpling appetizer and it came out with 5 instead of 6. One of the cooks came out with another one a few minutes later and apologized we had been one short, we didn’t even mention it to the waitstaff.

Ideal North American candidates have 3+ years of food and beverageexperience and a minimum of $250,000 USD in available capital for eachlocation they wish to develop. To help protect your investment, a cost-freethird-party project funding assessment will be made available. With a totalinitial investment starting as low as $625,000 USD for each restaurant. Only downside is limited seating. You can get takeout and I recommend calling it in ahead of time. It was delicious and the waiter was fantastic!!

This was an excellent place to eat Sushi! I love tempura shrimp so I shared a meal of Pink Lady and Dragon Rolls. The Dragon Roll with the cream cheese was just creamy enough. Both had a lovely mix of flavors.

Jin House Locations

The employee was rude and not at all apologetic toward the mistake told me to bring the food back because his boss didn’t believe me when I called to tell them the mistakes. Always amazing quality food and fast, friendly service! For those new to sushi or concerned with raw ingredients, try the Pink Lady.Never been disappointed with the food from Jin House. This is probably one of the best Asian restaurant in Lorain county.

A really good value for what you are getting. I enjoy coming back into town and stopping in here to enjoy some great food. This place used to be so delicious.... Not sure what happened but it started going down hill when they replaced pork with hot dogs!

We usually order a variety of sushi as well as mei fun noodles. "The Lady of the House of Love" which has been honored with many awards rightly confirms Selena Xin Jin as a great Costume Designer and Filmmaker. It won "Best Fantasy Film" at Top Shorts Film Festival and was awarded multiple prizes at the Los Angeles Film Awards, including “Best Horror Screenplay” and “Best Costume Design”.

I used to love this place but now it seems this place has gone down hill since they closed for vacation... They no longer have egg foo young, replaced all the pork friend rice with HOT DOGS!? And no longer have any hibachi items all the things that made me fall in love with this place are now gone... Probably the best Chinese place in Amherst.

He never once came back to our table. Someone else even brought out our food. How can a employee be so rude to a customer that asks for a service that they offer! I was nice and never rude to the kid either.

An all around amazing experience and we will definitely be back. I love their Smoked Salmon Philadelphia rolls with a side of Yum Yum sauce and their sweet and sour chicken. The staff is very nice and I received quick service. The service is still great and the staff is very helpful and friendly and you do still at least have sushi on the menu, however, the change in the menu wasn't good. There's no more habatchi and no more sushi appetizer.

As the director, costume & production designer and script writer of this film, the preparation stage has been very complicated. Before I went ahead building the team, I wanted to figure out most of the core elements and concepts by myself. I had the script written, drew the storyboard, dream location locked, actors auditioned & locked, the costume designed and tailored based on each actor's body shape by my own hand.

Everything is fresh and comes out HOT!!! So hot you have to let it cool before you can dig in. I have loved everything I've tried there. Their sushi is the best I've ever had!

The whole work I put into the prep on my own has been a full-year process. The costume itself, including the designing, experimentation and the making from scratch, took a year to complete. The filmmaking part and the finished film took another two years to finish. Are you looking for the best asian restaurant in Williamstown?

The director, Selena Xin Jin, creates a masterpiece with the help of the symbols and the gothicism of the book. The film explores the complexity of being a woman and her yearning. Carefully chosen details such as the fabric, shape, and colors are what makes each character a reality. It’s the director Selena Xin Jin’s signature style that is an instant mood changer.

As the latest win, "The Lady of the House of Love" is a manifestation of Selena Xin Jin's creativeness, passion and tirelessness in her business. What truly stands out here about the film is the use of spooky visuals, effective storytelling, and careful attention to detail that make viewers never forget the movie for a long time. The road to filming "The Lady of the House of Love" was not free of obstacles. When Selena Xin Jin, a remarkable designer, was challenged to direct and go beyond the limit of her comfort zone, it was more than a journey of creative exploration and personal discovery. In the short film "The Lady of the House of Love", made by Selena Xin Jin, viewers are allowed to have a taste of an environment where love, desire and darkness have got a tangled web.

Jin House

But have been trying to order since they got back from vacation. No answer at lunch and now apparently they close at 930. Change your online hours and your to go menus please.

Only drawback is there is very little seating. In winter it's cold in there since there are people constantly coming in to eat or for take out. I wish bluefin was available here. Good bang for your buck here but seating is limited and it has a fast food restaurant atmosphere. Mizu is my all time favorite which is 30 minutes down the road.

Jin House in Amherst

Even though the way was not easy, Selena Xin Jin enjoyed the whole journey. By watching the first images play across the screen, from the carefully designed costumes to the visually powerful sets, it was an experience that she is very satisfied with. Me and my husband had the worst experience tonight so disappointed we have been loyal customers to this restaurant for many years. Both of our orders were messed up to the point I was unable to eat mine due to being pregnant and not able to eat vegetables because of the heartburn it gives me.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant since the reviews are mostly positive, but was let down. The service was good, no complaints - quick, attentive, & friendly. Steamed pork dumplings that were very watery, both the King Pao & Garlic Chicken had sauce that was so thin it was almost flavorless, and the chicken in the King Pao was tough and chewy. Over all I was unimpressed and most likely won't be back. It would be hard to highly recommend this restaurant, especially with their prices. We would refer everyone who hadn't tried it.

Bad idea bringing in hotdogs and getting rid of the fried pork. Went there last week They are not using American pork? They substituted it with hot dog. Authentic ramen and a great investment can be hard to find. But at JINYA Ramen Bar, we have both.

Look no further than Jin House. This eatery serves up some of the most delicious asian cuisine around. Chicken was hard as rock and terrible! Manager started screaming at me because I asked for different chicken and grabbed my fork from me and started poking my food made a whole scene telling me she’s going to call the police! Like I just came to sit down and eat, enjoy my food and ended up walking out in a screaming arguement with the lady I will never be returning! Never have had someone get mad and rude to me because food wasn’t good and was just asking for something different.

Unfortunately it's gone seriously down hill. No more hibachi or pork, the lo mein lost all flavor and they added (I kid you not) hot dog fried rice. It doesn't help that the owner screams at anyone questioning the insanely long wait time or an order being wrong. I myself have never been the brunt of his anger, but I've witnessed it being lashed out at a few costumers while waiting for my food. I really thought Jin House was going places.

I couldn't decide which I liked better because they were both so good! Wait staff was also helpful and kind. Most small restaurants in the area don't have "professional" websites. All you have to do is search Jin House menu and you get a picture of the menu off Zomato/Yelp. I go there at least once or twice a month because the food is so great. The prices are just slightly expensive for a family of four, but worth it for the tasty food.

Great food but they have recently done a menu change from what I typically used to get. Some of the rolls I would get are different and I didn't notice till I got home to eat them. Food here is always amazing, no matter what you order.

Night Shyamalan’s career and the movie that embedded “I see dead people,” into the pop culture collective pulled at our heartstrings thanks to Cole Sear, the shy boy terrorized by ghosts in his own home. The scares are extremely effective, and the emotional arcs of the central characters grounds the supernatural aspects. It’s not the twist that makes The Sixth Sense such a doozy (though that’s memorable), but that it’s not actually Cole’s home that’s haunted- it’s him.

Though she stood trial for the crimes and was ultimately acquitted, Lizzie spent the rest of her life under the shadow of guilt. She created a labyrinth filled with halls that lead to dead ends, cut-off staircases, sloping floors, and a rabbit warren of chambers. According to an article by ABC News, the house has "10,000 windows, 2,000 doors, 47 fireplaces, 40 staircases, 13 bathrooms, and nine kitchens." From the Whaley House in California to Lizzie Borden's home in Massachusetts, these houses are as spooky as they come.

Check out the Bell Witch Cave and John Bell Cabin in person — tours of the site in Adams, Tennessee, are available Wednesday through Sunday from May to October — and see if you encounter anything strange yourself. In the early 1800s, John Bell bought a tract of farmland along Tennessee's Red River near a mysterious landmark now known as the Bell Witch Cave. He and his family thrived on the farm until they started to see strange looking animals around the property, most notably a dog with a rabbit's head. Back in 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found dead — killed by an ax-wielding psychopath.

Tell Me I’m Worthless tells the story of two friends, Alice and Ila, in the aftermath of a night spent together in a haunted house. Alice is transgender, and Ila is a ‘gender critical’ feminist, so it’s a complicated relationship that gives the reader lots to think about. But at its core is this terrifying house, Albion, which is essentially haunted or possessed by a particular brand of British fascism. Everything turned out okay, but it took a while and I’m convinced to this day that their anxiety struggles spring from these first weeks of life. As our children grew, we learned that two of the three were on the spectrum and that anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD were also playing a part in their lives.

The Haunting takes a two-prong approach to the terror; Nell’s psychological deterioration and the legit paranormal activity. Director Robert Wise delivers a masterful treatise on grief and horror, and proves even a G-rated movie can get under your skin. The 2007 found footage film that launched a franchise proved you don’t need much to create atmosphere. For Micah and Katie, moving into a new home turns into an inescapable nightmare when strange activity becomes a nightly occurrence, ramping up with every passing night. The personalities of the two lead characters and the slow build of tension and scare-crafting has proven divisive in the years since release, but it’s hard to discount a movie that delivers such chilling moments. The Innocents wasn’t a pioneering haunted house movie, nor is it the most famous.

It’s said that they roam the property, with Minnie occasionally playing nocturnal piano melodies. Franklin Castle is a private residence, so you can't tour it, but some ghost tours pass by the home to tell its spooky story. You can also catch the house on an episode of Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures." These occurrences seem to have been the work of the ghost of a young girl named Sallie.

This article about the best haunted house movies wraps up the 2022 edition of our ongoing series 31 Days of Horror Lists. This underseen horror movie arrived at the tale end of a wave of Satanic/Catholic-centered horror that began in earnest with Rosemary’s Baby, peaked with the Exorcist, and started to wind down with The Omen. Though the eerie hauntings at the heart of the film are occult in nature, The Sentinel adheres to the rules of a haunted house story.

Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) and her husband, Ed (Patrick Wilson), are paranormal investigators hellbent on helping the Perron family as they're haunted in their own farmhouse. The Warrens were real people who dedicated their lives to exploring the paranormal (or as some see it, duping the vulnerable), and they also investigated the real-life mystery of the Amityville house purchased by George and Kathy Lutz. The film's twist is one of those watercooler moments that rivals any horror movie ending. Without spoiling the climax, A Tale of Two Sisters uses the haunted house motif almost as a window dressing to obscure the psychological aspects at play in this immensely enthralling, supernatural flick. Not even Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaines can salvage your house when its walls start bleeding. George Lutz (James Brolin) and his wife, Kathy (Margot Kidder), get the deal of a lifetime when they buy a home in the quaint, seaside town of Amityville, N.Y.

Though he couldn’t witness its completion, legends say his family’s spirits linger on, with reports of mysterious sounds, self-flushing toilets and sudden temperature shifts. Los Lunas’ Luna Mansion saw a beautiful evolution under Josefita Otero’s supervision in the early 1900s.

People come from all over the country to visit this scare fest because it’s about as close to starring in a scary horror movie as you can get without actually being in one. In fact, horror films like Zombieland and Halloween 2 have even included Netherworld’s props and sets in production because it’s so life-like. Halloween is about fun costumes, scary movies, and celebrating all things spooky — and that includes having a live haunted experience. These 10 haunted houses / attractions have been voted by our readers as the best in the country for the quality of their actors, set designs, and special effects, as well as value for money. The best haunted houses in Los Angeles run the gamut from homegrown horrors to big-budget amusement park productions—unsurprisingly, the home of Hollywood horror films takes its Halloween events very seriously.

Located in Cincinnati, OH is The Dent School House, where you'll have to deal with an old school being haunted by a janitor who's already killed several students. The Dent School House is consistently ranked as one of the best haunted house in the United States, so you'll certainly have a spooked out time. There are some lessons they don’t teach you in school, like what to do if the school janitor is a psychopath.

Throughout the fall, the farm becomes an entirely transformed theme park with haunted mazes and attractions, unique and terrifying live performances, and 1000+ creatures waiting for you in the trees. At 70,000 square feet, this home has a lot of floor space for ghosts to ramble (its ballroom can hold 1,000 people). Although the house is abandoned, it’s in fairly intact shape, despite peeling paint, thanks to a caretaker and guard dogs. So who haunts this ‘last American Versailles’ which once held literal furniture from the Parisian palace? Apparently, tycoon Peter A. B. Widener, who built it, and his son and grandson, who sank with the famous ship.

UNIVERSAL CITY:

Bennett’s Curse is the only medieval vampire knight-themed haunted house in the world. Original scenes, enthusiastic actors, and state of the art special effects combine to create an unforgettable experience. While you’re visiting, don’t miss the scariest urban legends from every U.S. state. The ghosts and ghouls of this haunted establishment don’t follow the living’s hotel safety standards.

Absorbed is about a woman who physically absorbs her boyfriend into her own body. It’s about the complexities of a long-term relationship, of losing your individual identity and melding with another person. The body horror-ish concept felt perfect for this story because the love the main character feels for her partner and the fear of losing him is so visceral. These aren’t emotions she can readily access and work through; they’re in her bones. Yes, I think the horror genre is the perfect playground to work through all sorts of political, social, and personal ‘issues’. Anything can happen, from the kind of violence we see every day on the news and in our personal lives, right through to the completely unimaginable and impossible.

Legends of Fear

There’s an unshakable eeriness here that endures long after the film’s over. Richard Matheson’s novel Hell House is a masterclass in pure, straightforward haunted house terror, and John Hough’s film adaptation delivers all that and more. The film follows a group of experts as they head into the title house with the goal of finding proof of the supernatural. It quickly devolves into terror as the group encounters dark image after dark image, all building toward a terrifying conclusion that’s still one of the more fascinating haunted house resolutions in the cinematic canon.

The question of nature vs. nurture will likely never be entirely answered but I think there’s more than a good chance that “both/and” is the case. Around the midpoint of the film, Frank agrees to disown the child and sign it over for medical experimentation if caught or killed. Lenore and the older son Chris (Daniel Holzman) seek to nurture and teach the baby, feeling that it is not a monster, but a member of the family. The evening that had begun with such joy and excitement at the birth of their second child turned into a nightmare.

First of all, it should be of note that some people actually consider Creepy Hollow to be the scariest haunted house in America, which means it's pretty darn scary. If you're into ghost-hunting shows, you probably already know about this famous haunted house. The unassuming home in Atchison, Kansas, is rumored to be the dark lair for a demon who takes on the form of a little girl, stemming from a family's bizarre experiences there. She is now said to haunt the Fall River, Massachusetts, home where her father and stepmother were murdered, and her ghost can be heard laughing at the top of the stairs.

Burnt Offerings offers another example of a haunted house that changes its occupants. Despite the serious issues and ideas being examined in the film, It’s Alive is far from a dour affair. At heart, it is still a monster movie and filled with a sense of fun and a great deal of pitch-black humor. In one of its more memorable moments, a milkman is sucked into the rear compartment of his truck as red blood mingles with the white milk from smashed bottles leaking out the back of the truck and streaming down the street. Just after Frank agrees to join the hunt for his baby, the film cuts to the back of an ice cream truck with the words “STOP CHILDREN” emblazoned on it.

This is the family-friendly, “spooky” version of the annual Halloween festivities at Knott’s Berry Farm. Participants can expect claustrophobia, electrical shocks, moving floors, foul odor, strobe lighting, projectiles, fog, darkness, dizziness, suffocation, disorientation, and loud noises. This year, they’ve announced their “biggest, newest production in their 25-year history,” so prepare to be thoroughly shocked because they’re only getting scarier. This festival is definitely the scary version of Halloween, which comes back to life at Knott’s Berry Farm each year.

Along their journey, guests are welcomed into several haunted houses, where they might find anything from dead bodies to clowns and butchers. Enjoy Body Bean Bag Pumpkin Toss, Zombie Brain Smash, and other Carnival Town Games for a thrilling, competitive experience. Located just outside Philadelphia on Arasapha Farm, the Bates Motel offers an incredible experience of terror and mayhem. Check into the motel to experience a new level of horror, with high-tech special effects and lighting, including levitating spirits and pictures with eyes that follow you. Their Haunted Hayride is a 25-minute ride through the forest, complete with detailed Hollywood-style sets and props, giant monsters, and “more pyrotechnics than a KISS concert.” Also on offer is a haunted corn trail. One of the investigators, Nell, came into the investigation already wracked with guilt over a loss, making her fragile mind susceptible to the house.

That’s what makes it so unsettling and terrifying when something evil begins haunting its rooms and halls. Cohen begins making his underlying points early in the film as Frank Davis (John P. Ryan) discusses the state of the world with a group of expectant fathers in a hospital waiting room. I’ve had many conversations with friends who have said they feel it’s irresponsible to bring children into such a violent, broken, and dangerous world, and I certainly don’t begrudge them this.

Lake Mungo is chilling from start to finish, employing a mockumentary and found-footage style of filmmaking to exude an atmosphere of realism and tension that is supremely frightening to the senses. The fun of Lake Mungo, without spoiling the film's well-executed jump scare, is its use of modern technology to frighten audiences when they least expect it. Guillermo del Toro is one of horror’s great visual stylists, but even by his standards, Crimson Peak is truly stunning. A classic Gothic romance full of decay, sensuality, and ghosts, it’s a film that feels like stepping into another world, a meditation on certain well-worn tropes that somehow emerges as something entirely new. That’s thanks in part to the trio of stars—Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska—at its core, but the film’s sweeping, chillingly seductive energy is pure del Toro. Rawlins’ Ferris Mansion, although never inhabited by its original owner, George Ferris, due to a fatal mining mishap, did shelter his young son, Cecil.

Clark Street Ale House: Chicago Bar Project Review

For Private Events please include the potential date, time and number of guests in you inquiry. In the first days of 2021, news of the closure spread quickly across social media, garnering farewells, photos and remembrances from the likes of Patton Oswalt, Paul F. Tompkins, and Alison Martino of Vintage Los Angeles. Though he was a lifelong fan of diners — from the casual and inexpensive to the haute Fountain Coffee Room tucked into the Beverly Hills Hotel — he never dreamed of owning a diner of his own, at least not until 2021.

Food recalls reach highest level since the pandemic. Undeclared allergens are the biggest reason for the rise

After nearly 20 years as the 101 Coffee Shop, it shuttered a few weeks into the state’s first dine-in shutdown in 2020. Though the closure was originally intended to be temporary, at the end of the year the restaurant permanently and quietly closed. Sally Stewart had worked as a server at the 101 since it opened, and she’s back in its new incarnation. Stewart has ageless rock ’n’ roll energy (her husband is, in fact, a touring musician); she practices a steely sort of patience when my friend changes his order three times in 90 seconds. There’s nowhere in Los Angeles I’d rather eat a three-high stack of blueberry pancakes right now. The edges bounce pleasantly against the fork’s tines, and the interior of the heap is hot and just set but bordering on custardy.

The common thread among the varied clientele is a simple desire to enjoy their favorite drink and time with friends in a laid-back and unassuming atmosphere. For 20 years it was a steady, low-key hang for actors, screenwriters and literary types, tourists and locals. Grief poured out on social media in January 2021 when word spread that the 101 Coffee Shop had closed. Patton Oswalt posted pictures of his young daughter in one of the booths.

I prefer the cheesy, oniony punch of a patty melt over the just-fine burger, and vegans can have a Beyond Burger counterpart on sourdough. A substantial arugula salad laced with sliced pear, blue cheese, hazelnuts and pomegranate and dressed in tarragon vinaigrette isn’t far off from something you’d order at A.O.C. or République.

Review: An iconic Hollywood Hills diner is back, and the food is better than ever

clark street ale house

I dip a finger in the small syrup pitcher perched on the plate to make sure it’s real maple. In fact, Clark Street Ale House goes out of its way to be an unpretentious oasis in the chic desert of River North. It begins out front with antique neon signage that encourages passersby to “Stop and Drink,” the notation “Liquor House” intentionally blinking to emit a faux-dive feel. It serves as a welcome beacon for those seeking a simple place to quench their thirst, while perhaps encouraging those headed for the nearby “Viagra Triangle” to get a move on before their pills wear off. Stop & Drink was actually the name of the pub prior to its reincarnation as Clark Street Ale House in May 1994. Organic and local sourcing is at the core of Clark Street already; naturally, Hall says, it will extend to the diner.

At USC, arrests. At UCLA, hands off. Why pro-Palestinian protests have not blown up on UC campuses

Their fantastic beer list is worthy of comparison to such notable pubs as Bucktown’s Map Room and Andersonville’s Hopleaf. Their Scotch selection, as well as its list of cognacs, rival anything this side of the Duke of Perth. Clark Street Ale House is just about the perfect place to meet with friends, or make new ones, and you just may leave the place having just found your newest favorite drink. That is absolutely not the feeling you get as you step inside the Clark Street Ale House.

Neighbors mark their lives by the everyday moments they spend in diners, but it’s also a genre of restaurant where people settle in for decades to make their livelihoods. Stewart’s place of employment has landed in capable hands, and that’s uplifting news for all of us. Since the owner runs one of the city’s most respected bakeries, it is almost redundant to say that the bread is excellent. Hall’s plush sourdough crisps handsomely; the avocado toast, sprinkled with mild chile flakes, transcends clichés and tedium. Clark Street Ale House is a must-visit spot when in the River North area.

My first impression, even before I took in the bar’s set up and décor, was one of diversity and inclusion. Tables of twenty-something urbanites banter happily next to groups of revelers who are, at least theoretically, old enough to be their parents. White-collar workers sit next to blue-collar tradesmen who sit next to no-collar patrons (tourists in t-shirts and shorts).

I ask sheepishly if the omelet I’ve requested to be loaded with vegetables and cheddar can be made on the soft side, and out comes what is essentially a pale French rolled omelet. The yolks on the eggs Florentine burst and bleed onto the English muffin, spinach and (optional but recommended) kerchiefs of smoked salmon. Corned beef hash delivers satisfying proportions of crisp-soft spuds, salty wisps of meat and more deftly cooked eggs (over-easy, texture wise, feels right with this dish). Lately a common refrain runs through morning text exchanges with friends who are longtime Angelenos. It starts with me asking if they want to meet for breakfast at Clark Street Diner.

Kat Dennings mourned the loss of the blueberry-stained Purple Haze milkshake. “I didn’t stop to think about what a luxury it was to be able to count on the place I simply called ‘the 101’ until news broke last week that my diner around the corner had — without any last goodbyes — closed for good,” former Times columnist Nita Lelyveld wrote in a tribute. Stephanie Breijo is a reporter for the Food section and the author of its weekly news column. Previously, she served as the restaurants and bars editor for Time Out Los Angeles, and prior to that, the award-winning food editor of Richmond magazine in Richmond, Va. To be the finest food city in the country and might be biased on that count but doesn’t believe she’s wrong. A World War II-era neon sign hanging above this River North tavern encourages passersby to "Stop & Drink." Once inside, you'll find a cozy wooden bar that makes it easy to do just that, whether you prefer craft beer or single malt Scotch.

The interior is rectangular, with exposed red brick along two sides and a hand-painted mural covering the entirety of the back wall. High-boy tables and chairs cover most of the floor space, providing plenty of seating. The cherry bar itself is detailed, refined and the staging area for a veritable treasure trove of liquid pleasures. About the only negative I can muster is in regards to the beer garden at the back of the premises.

Surrounded on three sides by towering walls, there is scarcely enough ventilation to blow out a match and the concrete slab of the patio has all the charm of a prison exercise yard. I fully understand the need for a bar to maximize their floor space and provide customers with an outdoor option, but Clark Street’s beer garden is nothing to write home about. Clark Street Ale House is testimony to Chicago’s storied tradition of quirky neighborhood pubs and taverns. Since it was built in the late 1800’s, our building has always been a bar-even during prohibition.

Stop & Drink Liquor House became Clark Street Ale House in 1996, but the historic World War II-era Stop & Drink neon continues to proudly mark our spot. We are one of the Original Four craft-beer focused pubs in Chicago, with an affinity for fine whiskey. From the cheap stuff to the finer things, our focus is on thoughtful selection without pretension. Please join us in our classic Chicago barroom or on our beautiful beer garden patio.

The beer offerings are particularly impressive, with sours, stouts, IPAs and even barleywines from Chicagoland breweries on tap. Once you pick something out (don't be afraid to ask for a recommendation), you can sip it on the Clark Street Ale House's beautiful garden patio out back. Sign up to unlock our digital magazines and also receive the latest news, events, offers and partner promotions. Clark Street diner will open open with breakfast and lunch service, from 7 a.m.
